The Yayi Worldwide Support Initiative (YWSI), a humanitarian and political support group associated with Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola’s Ogun State governorship ambition, has distributed school bags and learning materials to pupils in two primary schools in Itori and Lapeleke, Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The intervention, held on Friday, October 23, 2026, covered All Saints Anglican Primary School, Itori, and St. Paul First African Church Mission Primary School, Lapeleke.
Beneficiaries received school bags, exercise books, pencils and biros to support their learning activities.
The outreach attracted commendation from traditional rulers and community leaders, who praised the initiative and called for sustained support for education and community development.
The delegation began the programme with a courtesy visit to the palace of the Olu of Itori, Oba Abdul Fatai Akorede Akamo-Ekun, where members paid homage to the monarch and presented him with a life-size customised cardboard standee in recognition of his contributions to community development.

Speaking on the motivation behind the intervention, YWSI’s Public Relations Officer, Wasiu Adekunle Adejumo, popularly known as Westo, said the initiative was driven by a desire to support vulnerable people, particularly children, and demonstrate concern for their welfare.
The group’s secretary, Mrs I. J. Imisioluwa, acknowledged that the materials might not meet every beneficiary’s needs but said the gesture reflected the initiative’s commitment to compassion and educational support.
Receiving the delegation, Oba Akorede Akamo-Ekun said the intervention could encourage pupils to pursue a brighter future and expressed hope that the initiative would extend similar assistance to other schools in need.
The Head of Chiefs, High Chief Tajudeen Oladeinde, also commended YWSI, citing its reported community interventions, including the provision of streetlights and other development-related support.
Chief Wale Bankole, the Adagunja of Itori Egbaland, similarly praised the group’s humanitarian activities.
At All Saints Anglican Primary School, the principal, Mr M. O. Olatunji, welcomed the delegation and appreciated its contribution towards addressing pupils’ educational needs.
The team subsequently visited St. Paul FACM Primary School in Lapeleke, where the Olu of Lapeleke, Oba Thomas Adebayo Odekunle, received the group and expressed appreciation for the outreach.
The monarch urged traditional rulers to support political leaders who demonstrate commitment to the welfare and development of their communities.
The intervention was particularly welcomed because some pupils reportedly carried their books in polythene bags due to a lack of proper school bags.
Speaking by telephone, YWSI President, Tosin Thompson, popularly known as Kings-Autos, who is based in California, United States, thanked the traditional rulers and residents for receiving the delegation.
He also appreciated members and diaspora partners whose contributions helped facilitate the exercise.
The delegation included Nollywood actress Seyi Edun, Itori Ward APC Youth Leader Comrade Riliwan Bakare, Comrade Soyemi Kayode, Mrs Titilayo Yakubu, popularly known as Iyalaya, Temitope Ajayi, known as Obailukan, Alhaji Olayiwola Onikosi, Uthman Anuoluwapo, known as Lujesha, and other members and volunteers.
The school distribution forms part of YWSI’s broader community engagement programme, which the group says includes educational assistance, medical outreach and support for vulnerable residents.
In September and October, the initiative also reported providing financial assistance to patients at General Hospital, Ilaro, and General Hospital, Abeokuta, according to reports published by Premier World News.
YWSI has linked its activities to its support for Adeola’s governorship ambition ahead of the 2027 Ogun State election, while presenting its community interventions as efforts to address local welfare and development needs.
