Premier World News (PWN) is a Nigerian news platform published by Premier World & Westo Communications Ltd. Our motto is “based on truth”, and this page explains how the editorial team works to live up to it.
Who we are
Stories on this site are researched, written and edited by the Premier World News editorial team and named contributors. Where a story is written by an individual reporter, their name appears on the article and links to their author page. Stories credited to “Premier World News” are produced by the editorial team.
Our standards
- Accuracy. We check facts, names, titles, figures and quotes before publishing, and we seek confirmation from more than one source for claims that are disputed or serious.
- Attribution. We say where information comes from. Statements, press releases and eyewitness accounts are identified as such.
- Fairness and right of reply. When a story contains allegations against a person or organisation, we make reasonable efforts to get their side before publication, and we will add a response received afterwards.
- Independence. Editorial decisions are made by the editorial team. Advertisers, sponsors and the subjects of our reporting do not decide what we publish or how we report it.
- Opinion is labelled. Commentary and opinion pieces are published under the Opinion or Editorial categories and reflect the views of their writers, not necessarily those of Premier World News.
- Sponsored content is labelled. Paid or promotional content is clearly marked so readers can tell it apart from news reporting.
- Photos and media. We use our own photographs or images supplied with permission, and we credit sources where possible. We do not alter news photographs in a way that misleads.
- Sensitive stories. We take care when reporting on crime, accidents, children and victims of abuse, and we avoid identifying people where doing so could put them at risk.
Corrections policy
We work hard to get things right, but when we make a mistake we correct it openly.
- If you believe a story contains an error, contact us by email or phone (details below) with the link to the story and what you believe is wrong.
- The editorial team will review your request and respond as quickly as possible.
- Where a factual error is confirmed, we correct the story and add a note at the end explaining what was changed and when.
- Minor fixes such as spelling or formatting may be made without a note.
