NUJ Ogun Council to Host OGWAMA MD, Hunye, Over State Sanitation

Abeokuta – The Ogun State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has announced plans to host the Managing Director of the Ogun State Waste Management Agency (OGWAMA), Mr. Abayomi Hunye, at a media parley scheduled for Thursday, January 8, 2026.

The engagement, organised by the NUJ Ogun State Council, is aimed at strengthening constructive interaction between the media and OGWAMA, while providing journalists with firsthand insights into waste management policies, ongoing reforms, achievements and challenges confronting environmental sanitation in Ogun State.

According to the council, the parley will also serve as a platform for in-depth discussions on the agency’s strategic initiatives, future plans and the critical role of the media in promoting environmental responsibility and public awareness across the state.

Mr. Hunye is expected to brief journalists on OGWAMA’s operational framework and policy direction, while responding to questions bordering on waste disposal, sanitation enforcement, sustainability and public cooperation.

The media parley is set to take place at the Ogun NUJ Hall, Iwe-Iroyin, in Abeokuta, starting at 4:00pm on the scheduled date.

Journalists across the state have been encouraged to attend and actively participate in the interactive session, which is expected to enhance collaboration between OGWAMA and the media in advancing a cleaner and healthier Ogun State.

The announcement was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary of the Ogun State Council of the NUJ, Comrade Bunmi Adigun.
