Abeokuta – The Ogun State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Abayomi N. Tella, has successfully earned a Doctorate Degree (PhD) in Project Management from Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, celebrating a significant academic milestone in his public and political career.

Hon. Tella was formally conferred the Doctor of Project Management degree on Wednesday, following the successful defence of his doctoral thesis during a Viva Voce examination at the LASU Postgraduate School, according to a statement released by his media office.

The achievement reflectcts Hon. Tella’s long-standing commitment to academic excellence, leadership development and evidence-based governance, particularly at a time when effective project execution and strategic planning remain critical to public administration in Nigeria.

“This prestigious achievement is a testament to Hon. Tella’s uncompromising dedication to education, public service and his continuous quest to contribute meaningfully to the development of Ogun State and Nigeria at large”, the statement read.

The statement further described the doctorate as a reflection of his belief in combining intellectual capacity with political leadership, noting that his academic training would further strengthen his ability to deliver results-driven leadership within the PDP and beyond.

Premier World News reports that Hon. Abayomi Tella currently serves as the Ogun State Chairman of the PDP, under the leadership of the party’s governorship candidate, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu.

He assumed office following the exit of the former chairman, Hon. Sikirulai Ogundele, who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Party stakeholders and supporters across the state have since congratulated Hon. Tella, describing the doctorate as a timely boost to the party’s intellectual depth and administrative capacity ahead of future political engagements.

The congratulatory message was signed by his media assistant, Rotarian Olunuga Olamilekan Philip, who applauded the PDP chairman’s resolve to balance academic advancement with public service.

“Congratulations, Dr. (Hon.) Abayomi Tella, on this well-deserved academic height”, the statement concluded.
