The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Joint Campus Council (JCC), Ogun State Axis, has commended the Ogun State Police Command for the successful neutralization of a suspected notorious kidnapping kingpin and the recovery of cash and an AK-47 rifle during a security operation in the state.
The commendation was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Chairman of NANS/JCC Ogun Axis, Comrade Olabode Faruq Boluwatife, popularly known as “SUCCESS”.
The student body specifically praised the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, for what it described as strategic leadership, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state.
According to the statement, the operation further demonstrated the proactive intelligence and operational effectiveness of the Ogun State Police Command in tackling insecurity and criminal activities.
“The leadership of NANS/JCC Ogun State Axis heartily commends the Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Police Force under the able leadership of CP Bode Ojajuni for the successful operation and neutralization of a notorious kidnapping kingpin and the recovery of cash alongside an AK-47 rifle”, the statement read.
The students’ body also applauded officers and men of the command for their courage and sacrifice in combating violent crimes, noting that their efforts continue to restore confidence among residents and members of the student community.
“We particularly salute the Commissioner of Police for his strategic leadership and the courage displayed by officers and men of the command during this mission. Their swift response and dedication to combating insecurity continue to restore confidence among residents and the student community in Ogun State”, Comrade Faruq stated.
The NANS chairman affirmed that Nigerian students in Ogun State recognize and appreciate the sacrifices of security personnel who put their lives on the line daily to maintain peace and order.
He further urged the police command to sustain the momentum in the fight against kidnapping, cultism, armed robbery and other criminal activities threatening public safety in the state.
“We encourage the Ogun State Police Command to sustain this momentum in the fight against kidnapping, cultism, robbery, and other criminal activities threatening the peace of our dear state”, he added.
The students’ body also reiterated its readiness to collaborate with security agencies through peace advocacy, intelligence sharing and security awareness campaigns within campuses and student communities across Ogun State.
Political and security watchers have described the public support from NANS as a significant boost to ongoing security operations in Ogun State, especially amid growing concerns over criminal activities in parts of the country.
