Ogun State – Honourable Gboyega Nasiru Isiaka (GNI), representing Yewa North/Imeko-Afon Federal Constituency, has reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive democracy, inter-party collaboration and grassroots-driven leadership during a courtesy visit to the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Ogun State.

Speaking at the IPAC Secretariat, Democracy House, Abeokuta, on Saturday, Hon. Isiaka engaged chairpersons of the 18 registered political parties, describing IPAC as a critical pillar for democratic stability and political harmony in the state.

He stressed that democracy thrives only when political actors respect institutions and work collectively beyond partisan boundaries.

“IPAC represents the soul of our democratic process. All democrats, regardless of party affiliation, must align with its values and guiding principles,” Isiaka said.

Reflecting on his political journey, the federal lawmaker highlighted his resilience across multiple electoral contests and recalled contesting on the platform of a smaller political party, where he secured over 100,000 votes, an outcome he described as proof that credibility, grassroots connection and people-oriented politics still matter in Nigeria.

“My political tenets remain valid and firmly on ground”, he stated, adding that the visit was not for formal declarations of political ambition, but to reaffirm his enduring commitment to the people of Ogun State.

GNI emphasized that effective governance requires collaboration with IPAC, party leaders and stakeholders across ideological lines.

He acknowledged the role played by Hon. Dr. Abayomi Tella during his 2015 campaign and apologized to the council for earlier scheduling challenges, while appreciating the warm reception accorded him.

Responding, IPAC Chairman and Ogun State Chairman of the Action Alliance (AA), Hon. Sanyaolu Abayomi, commended GNI for recognizing IPAC as a unifying platform.

He noted that Democracy House remains home to all political parties in the state and stressed the need for strategic cooperation, drawing lessons from previous election cycles.

Accord Party Chairman, Hon. Oke, urged GNI to remain tolerant and people-focused, stressing that leadership must prioritize the masses over elite interests.

Similarly, PDP Chairman, Dr. Abayomi Tella, welcomed the visit, stating that while parties may have preferred candidates, Ogun State’s collective interest must come first, adding that “wealth is meaningless if it is not honourably earned”.

NNPP Chairman, Barrister Aina, described GNI as a man of integrity with whom he has shared enduring political relationships, while SDP Deputy Chairman, Chief Coker, cautioned against external political imposition and called for unity among indigenous stakeholders.

Boot Party Chairman, Arch. Akerele, also praised the visit and encouraged relationship-building beyond partisan lines.

In his closing remarks, GNI thanked the IPAC leadership for their candid contributions, described Baba Joju as a father figure and reaffirmed his identity as a grassroots politician with elite exposure.

“I remain committed to bridging the grassroots and the elite for the collective good of Ogun State”, he said.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the APP State Chairman, Mr. Biola Martins.
