The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has pledged to pursue equitable development across the state and ensure that no senatorial district or community is marginalised if elected governor in 2027.
Adeola made the pledge during a courtesy visit to the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, CFR and members of the Remo Traditional Council at the Akarigbo Palace in Sagamu.
As part of the engagement, Adeola donated a 30-seater bus to the Remo Traditional Council, saying the vehicle would support the council in carrying out its official engagements and responsibilities.
Adeola was accompanied by Governor Dapo Abiodun, his running mate, Alhaja Kudirat Adegunwa-Balogun, as well as APC leaders, candidates and supporters.
‘I Will Govern the Whole of Ogun’, Adeola said
Addressing the traditional rulers, Adeola said his ambition was to govern the entire state rather than a particular senatorial district.
He assured the monarchs that his administration would pursue balanced development across Ogun’s three senatorial districts and would not neglect one area in favour of another.
The senator also commended Abiodun for what he described as a strong infrastructural and economic foundation established through investments in roads, education, healthcare and other strategic projects.
He specifically cited the Gateway International Airport and other major infrastructure projects as investments whose wider economic benefits could become more evident over time.
Adeola said the next administration would need to understand the state’s existing development plans and consolidate ongoing projects rather than abandon them.
Traditional Rulers Commend Adeola’s Interventions:
The traditional rulers commended Adeola for interventions facilitated in Remoland despite his representation of Ogun West Senatorial District in the National Assembly.
The Elepe of Epe, according to the supplied account, commended his contributions to communities in the area and recalled his support for the Gateway International Airport project at the National Assembly.
The Alaye-Ode also appreciated Adeola for providing streetlights in Ode-Remo.
The monarchs urged the APC candidate to remain committed to the development of the entire state and continue ongoing projects of the Abiodun administration if elected.
The Akarigbo described Adeola as consistent and supportive of the traditional institution, while thanking him for his continued engagement with Remoland.
He subsequently led special royal prayers for Adeola and his running mate, praying for a peaceful campaign and success in the 2027 governorship election.
Adeola’s engagement with the Akarigbo is part of a broader relationship with traditional institutions in Ogun.
