Veteran Nollywood Yoruba actor and filmmaker, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has died at the age of 66 after battling stage-four cancer.
The actor’s daughter, Kira Taiwo, announced his death on Sunday evening during an emotional Instagram livestream, according to multiple reports.
Entertainment industry figure and founder of the Best of Nollywood (BON), Seun Oloketuyi, also confirmed the actor’s death, stating that Ogogo had finally lost his battle with the illness.
Ogogo’s death comes only days after his daughters, Lima and Kira Taiwo, publicly disclosed the severity of his health condition and appealed for medical assistance as the family sought treatment for his stage-four cancer.
