Alhaji Abdul-Hammed Femi Omotayo, popularly known as OmoOwo and a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial aspirant in Ogun State, has further strengthened his grassroots profile following a ₦10 million donation towards the expansion of the Egba Central Mosque in Abeokuta.

The donation was announced during the annual Ariya Odun programme of the mosque, held at Ake Palace Square, where religious leaders, community stakeholders and dignitaries gathered to celebrate faith, unity and community development.

The contribution was warmly received by attendees and widely applauded as a significant support for the ongoing expansion project, strengthening Omo-Owo’s reputation as a philanthropist and community-minded political figure committed to promoting development across social and religious divides.

Beneficiaries noted that the gesture reflects a broader commitment to inclusive leadership and people-oriented service, values that have increasingly defined his public engagements across Ogun State.

In a related development, OmoOwo also participated in the 2026 Ojude Oba Festival in Ijebu Ode, one of Nigeria’s most celebrated cultural events, which attracted thousands of indigenes, traditional rulers, cultural groups and visitors from within and outside the country.

His presence at the festival was viewed by many as a demonstration of his connection to the cultural heritage and aspirations of the people of Ogun East, further enhancing his visibility and acceptance across the senatorial district.

Speaking on his engagements, Omo-Owo said his interactions across cultural, religious and community platforms are driven by a desire to promote unity, inclusiveness and balanced development.

According to him, his political philosophy remains anchored on “Equity, Justice, Peace and Progress”, adding that his aspiration is focused on delivering effective representation, expanding opportunities and advancing meaningful development for the people of Ogun East.

He reaffirmed his commitment to people-centred leadership and inclusive governance, stressing that sustainable progress can only be achieved through collaboration, fairness and active engagement with all segments of society.

Political observers say Omo-Owo’s growing presence across key cultural, religious and community spaces continues to position him as one of the emerging figures to watch in the evolving Ogun East senatorial landscape.

The mosque event and the Ojude Oba Festival also highlighted the importance of preserving cultural heritage, strengthening religious harmony and fostering community development as essential pillars of societal progress, Premier World News reports.
