The Leadership Empowerment International Conference (LEIC) and the Perspectives Leadership Development Institute (PLD Institute) have extended warm Eid El Kabir greetings to Muslims in Ogun State, across Nigeria and around the world, while calling for national unity, peaceful coexistence and responsible leadership ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a goodwill message issued to commemorate the 2026 Eid El Kabir celebration, the International Coordinator of LEIC and President of PLD Institute, Bishop Olúṣesí Michael Ọbátẹ́yẹ, described the festival as a season that reflects faith, sacrifice, obedience, compassion and commitment to humanity.
According to him, the sacred celebration symbolizes the profound example of Prophet Ibrahim’s submission to the will of Allah and serves as a reminder of the values of sacrifice, generosity and solidarity with the less privileged.
“As a Christian leader, I recognize the deep moral and ethical values that Eid represents: humility before God, obedience to His voice, care for the vulnerable, widows, orphans and the pursuit of righteousness in public and private life”, he stated.
The cleric noted that Nigeria needs greater unity and understanding among people of different faiths, stressing that national progress can only be achieved through dialogue, mutual respect, love and collective responsibility.
“Nigeria needs this spirit now more than ever. Our nation can only move forward when people of different beliefs choose dialogue over division, love over hatred, service over self-interest, and shared responsibility over blame”, he said.
Bishop Ọbátẹ́yẹ further encouraged Muslims to continue demonstrating kindness, generosity, and compassion during and after the Eid celebrations, noting that such virtues strengthen families, communities and society at large.
He prayed for peace, prosperity, good health, divine guidance, and answered prayers for Muslim faithful, while urging Nigerians to remain committed to building a peaceful and progressive nation.
“At LEIC and PLD Institute, we remain committed to promoting leadership rooted in integrity, transformation, empathy, and quality service. We believe that religious diversity, when approached with unconditional love and mutual respect, becomes a source of strength for our communities and the nation”, the statement added.
He also expressed hope that the Eid season would renew Nigerians’ collective commitment toward building a society where faith inspires unity and service promotes national development.
The message comes amid growing national conversations around religious tolerance, leadership values and political stability ahead of the 2027 elections in Nigeria, Premier World News reports.
