On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Ogun State’s creation, Premier Grammar School Old Students Association (PREGSOSA) President, Fatai Mosaku, on behalf of the association’s 2003 Set, has extended heartfelt felicitations to the people and youth of Ogun State, celebrating the state’s steady growth and urging continued collective commitment toward its development.

Ogun State, created on February 3, 1976, marks its Golden Jubilee (Ogun @50) in 2026, a milestone that has drawn tributes from civic groups, traditional institutions and public officials across the state.

In a prepared statement on Tuesday, Mosaku hailed the economic and infrastructural advancements witnessed over the past half‑century, with particular commendation for the leadership of the current executive governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.

He described the progress as significant and worthy of celebration, urging the state’s youth to sustain their engagement and support in efforts to deepen development outcomes.

“Together, we can build a better Ogun State”, Mosaku said, reiterating unity and purpose as essential ingredients for future progress.

Governor Dapo Abiodun has likewise marked the Golden Jubilee with reflections on Ogun’s journey and future trajectory.

In a statewide broadcast, he highlighted the state’s transformation into one of Nigeria’s fastest‑growing economies, with an estimated economic value of about ₦17 trillion and Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) growth from approximately ₦52 billion in 2020 to nearly ₦250 billion by 2025, a testament to sustained reforms and investor confidence.

Abiodun pointed to major infrastructure developments under his administration, including the construction and rehabilitation of over 1,600 kilometres of roads, completion and certification of the Gateway International Airport and advancing projects such as the Kajola and Ijebu‑Ode Inland Dry Ports and future Olokola Deep Sea Port, developments expected to catalyse further economic expansion.

As part of the Golden Jubilee festivities, Governor Abiodun declared Tuesday, February 3, 2026, a public holidayacross the state to enable residents to participate fully in commemorative activities that reflect on Ogun’s past, celebrate its present and project a bold future for the Gateway State.

The governor’s address also honoured past leaders, pioneers and the indigenes whose contributions collectively shaped Ogun’s identity as a ‘fountain of excellence’, spanning education, governance, industry and culture.

In his congratulatory note, Mosaku’s appeal to young people focuses on reinforcing the spirit of service, resilience and vision necessary to sustain Ogun’s developmental momentum.

His message aligns with broader calls from civic and community leaders advocating unity, peaceful coexistence and shared prosperity as the state embarks on its next chapter post‑50 years.
