Abeokuta, Ogun State – In a heartfelt gesture of support and civic responsibility, Hon. Afolabi Oluwatade, a House of Representatives aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, has donated a brand new 10KVA generator to the Ogun State PDP Secretariat in Abeokuta.
The high-capacity generator, handed over on Tuesday to the State Chairman of the party, Hon. Abayomi Tella, is aimed at easing the burden of erratic power supply that has long disrupted party operations and working conditions at the Secretariat.

Present at the official handover were top party executives and members of the State Working Committee, including the Deputy State Chairman, Hon. Abiodun Ogunremi; State Secretary, Dr. Sunday Solarin; Youth Leader, Sunkanmi Oyejide; State Treasurer and other key officers.
The donation comes as a much-needed boost to the Secretariat, which has grappled with excessive heat, printing delays and operational slowdowns due to unreliable electricity.
“This is not just a generator; this is a lifeline, said Dr. Sunday Solarin, the State Secretary.
“Hon. Oluwatade has made it easier for our team to function effectively and we are deeply grateful”.
“It is a job-saving donation”, added Chairman Abayomi Tella, who praised Oluwatade for responding to the practical needs of the party, especially during a period where internal efficiency and external perception matter most.
The newly donated generator is noiseless, easy-to-operate and fuel-efficient and is expected to transform day-to-day Secretariat operations, from document printing to digital engagement and cooling systems across offices.
Hon. Oluwatade, a mechanical engineer by training and a thriving entrepreneur, is contesting to represent Yewa South/Ipokia Federal Constituency.
The former Labour Party candidate has since joined the PDP, bringing with him a fresh wave of energy, innovation and commitment to grassroots empowerment.
According to party observers, this gesture goes beyond politics, it reflects a deep-seated commitment to institution-building and the wellbeing of staffers and party stakeholders.
“Power supply is often overlooked, but it determines productivity. I donated this generator because I believe our party offices should function efficiently. We must lead by example”, Hon. Oluwatade stated in a brief remark.
His donation has been described as a symbolic act of leadership and philanthropy, reinforcing the importance of practical contributions in building stronger political institutions.
The intervention has also been welcomed by younger party members and staffers who see it as a signal that modern, empathetic leadership is possible within Nigeria’s evolving political landscape.
As Ogun PDP intensifies preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections, stakeholders say interventions like this will not only enhance internal productivity but also rebuild public confidence in the party’s commitment to grassroots impact and functional governance.
