Abeokuta – A major grassroots mobilization drive is underway in Ogun State as the Tinubu Support Organization (TSO) has declared its ambition to deliver one million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The declaration was made at a high-level stakeholders’ convergence held in Akomoje, Abeokuta North Local Government Area, where political actors, youth leaders and grassroots coordinators signaled the start of an aggressive statewide mobilization strategy.

PVC-Driven Mobilization Strategy:

Addressing participants, Abeokuta North Council Chairman and Ogun State TSO Coordinator, Hon. Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo (LOS), underscored that membership of the group is strictly tied to possession of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), positioning the organization as a results-oriented political structure anchored on verified voters.

“Our target is clear – to mobilize and deliver not less than one million votes. Elections are not won on social media; they are won at the polling unit level”, he said.

He disclosed that the organization currently boasts over 50,000 registered members statewide, cutting across political affiliations but united by a shared commitment to electoral participation and APC victory.

Ward-Level Strategy to Combat Voter Apathy:

Citing concerns over low voter turnout in previous elections, Oyegbola-Sodipo pointed to data from the 2023 polls, where participation in Ogun State hovered around 11 percent of registered voters, describing it as a major democratic gap.

“This shows voter apathy is still very high. That is why we are focusing on aggressive grassroots mobilization to change the narrative”, he stated.

To achieve its ambitious target, TSO has adopted a ward-based framework, projecting at least 2,000 votes from each of the state’s 236 wards, supported by a structure that spans all 20 local government areas down to polling units.

Consensus Politics and Party Discipline:

Oyegbola-Sodipo also addressed earlier speculation about his political stance prior to the emergence of Adeola as the APC’s consensus candidate, clarifying that his neutrality was guided by party discipline and respect for leadership.

“As a council chairman, it would have been inappropriate to openly support any aspirant prematurely. I waited for direction from the governor and party leadership. That is the structure of the APC”, he explained.

He emphasized that the eventual consensus reflects strategic alignment within the party, adding:

“Now that a candidate has emerged, we are fully aligned and ready to deliver. Our job is already 50 percent done because Senator Adeola understands the dynamics of winning elections“.

Coalition of Support Groups Under One Umbrella:

In a show of expanding influence, the TSO leader revealed that the organization now operates as an umbrella platform coordinating multiple APC-aligned support groups, including CCM, Sabo Stayte, Arewa Group and the DA-PBAT Movement.

At the convergence, leaders and coordinators of these groups publicly identified with the initiative, reinforcing a broad-based coalition poised for coordinated campaign efforts.

Political observers note that this consolidation effort signals a shift toward structured, data-driven grassroots politics, positioning TSO as a critical mobilization engine ahead of 2027.

Youth Mobilization Takes Center Stage:

Also speaking, Special Adviser on Youth Affairs to Governor Dapo Abiodun, Comrade Olamide Lawal, described the convergence as a reflection of unified resolve among party supporters across the state.

“We have come together to declare our support for Senator Adeola and for the President. This is a collective decision of our members across Ogun State,” he said.

“Lawal emphasized the central role of youth participation in achieving electoral success:

“Young people are not only ready to vote; they are mobilizing their communities. Every vote counts and we are putting structures in place to meet and exceed our targets“.

He expressed optimism that ongoing sensitization campaigns would significantly boost turnout in 2027.

A Strategic Early Start to 2027:

Tracing the origins of the movement to 2021, Oyegbola-Sodipo noted that TSO played a role in advocating for Tinubu’s presidential emergence and is now repositioning early for re-election efforts.

“We are starting early – mobilizing, organizing, and engaging the grassroots to ensure better outcomes. This time, we are determined to deliver”, he said.

Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo: A Rising Force in Grassroots Politics:

Beyond the immediate electoral objective, Oyegbola-Sodipo’s leadership of the TSO is drawing attention within Ogun’s political landscape.

His blend of organizational discipline, grassroots connectivity, and strategic restraint is increasingly portraying him as a skillful and emerging political force.

Premier World News describes him as part of a new generation of leaders who combine party loyalty with modern mobilization tactics, making him one to watch in Ogun State’s evolving political dynamics.

With structures already activated across wards and polling units, the TSO’s one-million-vote target sets the stage for what could become one of the most coordinated grassroots political campaigns in the state’s recent history, Premier World News reports.
