The Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ogun State Council, has concluded arrangements to host a special sendforth dinner in honour of the retiring Head of Service in Ogun State, Kehinde Onasanya and former General Manager of Ogun State Television, Tunde Kassim.
The event is scheduled to hold on Wednesday, May 20, at the NUJ Council Secretariat, Iwe Iroyin Press Centre, Abeokuta,

According to a statement jointly signed by the Ogun NUJ Chairman, Comrade Wale Olanrewaju and Secretary, Comrade Bunmi Adigun, the dinner is aimed at celebrating the outstanding contributions of the two honourees to governance, media development and public service in Ogun State.
The council praised Mr. Onasanya as a disciplined and visionary administrator whose career in the Ogun State civil service culminated in a distinguished tenure as Head of Service.
The statement noted that his commitment to professionalism, efficient service delivery and institutional leadership earned him admiration across government circles and beyond.
Similarly, the union commended Mr. Kassim for his impactful role in the growth of broadcasting and journalism in Ogun State, particularly through his years of service at OGTV, where he mentored several journalists and media professionals.
“Ogun NUJ considers it important to celebrate distinguished personalities whose legacies have positively shaped public service and media practice in the state”, the statement read.
The council disclosed that the event would begin at 5:00 p.m., with prominent personalities expected from the media, political and public sectors.
Among the dignitaries billed for the occasion is Lekan Mustapha, who will serve as Chairman of the event, while Chief Mrs. Mojisola Oni-Quadri, the Ibuso Aje of Egbaland and Patroness of the union, will attend as Mother of the Day.
The statement further revealed that the National President of the NUJ, Alhassan Yahaha, veteran journalists, senior government officials and notable personalities are expected at the gathering.
