Executive Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori, has been honoured with the prestigious Award of Humanitarian Excellence by the Multiple District 404 Nigeria of Lions Clubs International.
The award was presented during the just-concluded 19th Multiple District Convention of Lions International Nigeria held in Asaba, the Delta State capital.
Presenting the award, the Multiple Council Chairperson of Lions International Multiple District 404 Nigeria, Dr. Jide Bello, commended Governor Oborevwori for his commitment to people-oriented governance, humanitarian service and developmental initiatives across Delta State.

The recognition, according to Lions International, reflects the governor’s growing reputation for inclusive leadership, social impact and support for initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of citizens.
The convention attracted distinguished personalities, humanitarian advocates, public office holders and members of Lions Clubs from across Nigeria, with participants emphasizing the importance of service, community development and collaborative leadership in nation-building.
Governor Oborevwori, widely acknowledged for advancing his administration’s developmental agenda in Delta State, was celebrated at the event for policies and interventions considered beneficial to communities and vulnerable groups.
The presentation ceremony also highlighted the longstanding humanitarian contributions of Lions International in Nigeria and globally, particularly in the areas of healthcare support, youth empowerment, community service, vision care and disaster relief.
