The Ogun State Commissioner for Forestry, Hon. (Engr.) Taiwo Oludotun, FNSE, has congratulated Senator Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, on his emergence as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Ogun State.
Oludotun described Senator Adeola’s victory in the APC governorship primary conducted across the 20 local government areas of the state as a clear demonstration of the confidence, trust, and widespread acceptance the lawmaker enjoys among party members and stakeholders.
In a statement made available to journalists, the commissioner noted that the outcome of the primary election further reflected the unity, stability and internal cohesion within the Ogun State chapter of the APC.
According to him, Senator Adeola’s emergence represents another significant phase in Ogun State’s political development while also reinforcing the long-standing agitation by Ogun West stakeholders for broader inclusion in the leadership structure of the state.
Oludotun stated that the overwhelming support received by the senator from delegates and party faithful across Ogun State underscored his grassroots appeal and political strength ahead of the 2027 general election.
He expressed confidence in Senator Adeola’s competence, exposure and administrative experience, noting that the APC candidate possesses the leadership capacity required to sustain growth and development across the state.
The commissioner also commended party leaders and stakeholders for ensuring a peaceful and transparent governorship primary process, describing the exercise as a victory for democracy and internal party harmony.
He particularly appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, elder statesman Chief Olusegun Osoba, Governor Dapo Abiodun, former governors of Ogun State, and other APC leaders for their contributions toward the successful conduct of the primary and the emergence of Senator Adeola as the party’s candidate.
Oludotun further stressed that the unity displayed by party leaders and members during the exercise would strengthen the APC ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
He urged party faithful across Ogun State to remain united, committed, and focused on sustained grassroots mobilisation in preparation for the general election.
