As Ogun State prepares to host the 22nd edition of the National Sports Festival, which kicks off on May 16, the Honourable Commissioner for Sports, Wasiu Isiaka, has called on the people of Ogun to open their arms and hearts to the thousands of visitors arriving from across Nigeria and beyond.

Speaking with the Editor of Premier World News in Abeokuta on Wednesday, the Commissioner emphasized the importance of hospitality, unity and pride, describing the event as a historic opportunity for the state to showcase its true identity as the Gateway to the Nation.
“We want every visitor to feel the respect, culture and excellence that Ogun State is known for. Let’s treat them as brothers and sisters. This is our time to shine”, Isiaka said.

He also assured the public and participants that Ogun State is fully ready to host what promises to be the most organized and sensational National Sports Festival in Nigerian history.

The Commissioner commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for ensuring the total renovation and transformation of the M.K.O. Abiola International Stadium into a world-class, multi-sport facility.
“This is not just a festival, it is a declaration that Ogun State is ready for the future of sports”, Isiaka added.

Premier World News reports that the newly upgraded stadium now includes; a new Olympic-standard swimming pool, International-grade football pitch with premium turf, Modern digital scoreboard, basketball and lawn tennis courts, additional training pitches and athlete-friendly facilities, to mention but a few.


He further urged Nigerians and the global audience to tune in and witness history in the making, as Ogun State sets a new benchmark for sports development and national unity.
