In Nigeria, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Ogun State, Oladipupo Adebutu has congratulated Nigerian workers on the occasion of 2023 Workers’ Day celebration.
In a statement issued on Monday, by the Director of Media, Ladi Adebutu Campaign Organisation, Afolabi Orekoya, Adebutu described Workers as – “indispensable wheels and greatest resources, which the States and Nation will always rely on”.
Also in the statement, he advised workers to remain steadfast, calm and resolute as they serve their States and fatherland, stressing that he felt so great to indentify with workers as partners in progress on nation building.
He further added thus; “although, we are pained with the bad state of economic development which has also led to the deteriorated state of workers welfare, induced by the maladministration and throbbing governance of the ruling government, most especially in Ogun State”.
He prayed for to God to restore the lost glory of Ogun State and Nigeria as a whole, and further charged all workers to remain resolute, hardworking and abide to the provisions of the civil service rules.
Adebutu further used the opportunity of this year Workers’ Day celebration to call on all Federal and States government to focus on policies that will promote the growth of the labour-force, by taking steps to safeguard socio-economic rights and ensure adequate welfare of workers.
