Aspirant for Ogun State Houses of Assembly, OGHA in Abeokuta North State Constituency, under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Ibrahim Abiodun Jinadu, IBA has explained why he left the party to join the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC in the state.
Ibrahim Jinadu said that he has moved on to support the re-election of governor Dapo Abiodun in APC because, his mandate was stolen in Ogun PDP by a group called “12-Desciples” under the leadership of Prince Lekan Tejuoso, who is also a party leader in Abeokuta North and the state.
He lamented on how he was severally abandoned from PDP activities without any sense of belonging, and noted that he does not want his political career to be ruined, hence, his decision to join the APC.

WHY I LEFT PDP FOR APC
BY – IBRAHIM ABIODUN JINADU (IBA), ASPIRANT FOR OGUN HOUSES OF ASSEMBLY, ABEOKUTA NORTH STATE CONSTITUENCY
1. I left PDP because my mandate was stolen, I was cheated unjustly and I don’t want my political career to be ruined.
2. My politics has been consistent in character and integrity throughout my years in PDP, and as true son of a former Ogun PDP Chieftain, late Alhaji Jimoh Jinadu (AJIMATANKUNJE), Iberekodo, Abeokuta North, Ogun state, I genuinely put in my best for the party.
3. Let me say without mincing word that, if there should be an award for any party that has no respect for its own rules, Ogun PDP should be crowned number one.
4. A lot of people in Ogun PDP are not sincere. They are so many desperate emperors within the party that hate young sharps. They always feel threatened seeing intelligent and vibrant youths around. They are so mean and cruel. They usually find solace in pulling people down, telling lies, attacking people unjustly, spreading rumour, backbiting and all sorts, and as such, I didn’t find the place comfortable.
5. I was cheated, my mandate was stolen, my ticket was hijacked and I do not like cheating. I don’t cheat and don’t like people to cheat either. But in Ogun PDP, cheating and operation pull him down are the hobbies of so many acclaimed “Ladists”.
HOW IT STARTED:
6. Aside being a card carrying member and financial contributor for not less than 8years in Ogun PDP, I have also managed different political associations, organizations, groups, foundations and movements that are either directly or indirectly associated to the party. Besides, that was where the idea to contest for political office and give the people a good representation came from. The idea has been conceived since long time ago.
7. After so much consultations and town-hall meetings with leaders and stakeholders, including thousands of volunteers of IBA Political Movement, I went ahead to pick-up Interest and Nomination Forms in Abuja, last year 2022, to contest for Member, Ogun State Houses of Assembly, OGHA, Abeokuta North, State Constituency.
8. Also, after picking the Forms and fulfilled all pre-election obligations, I called my political loyalists and supporters and built a strong political structure under IBA Foundation / IBA Political Movement, and also did an intensive campaign rallies and town-hall meetings across board, while our goodwill messages were felt by the good people of Abeokuta North. There was hardly a political leader or stakeholder in Abeokuta North that my consultations, campaign rallies and good-will messages did not reach.
9. We prepared for the primaries and were five aspirants contesting for the same office, namely; Akintomiwa Adisa, Amed Muiz Oladimeji, Ogunjimi Taofeek, Kudaisi Lateef Kenhide and myself respectively.
10. While preparing for primaries, some desperate and cruel emperor came under the group called “The 12-Desciples of Abeokuta North”. There was a group of “12-Desciples” under the selfish leadership of Prince Lekan Tejuoso, and I am aware that the group still exists.
11. At first, this 12-Desciples group under the leadership of Prince Lekan Tejuoso divided us into two parts. One part was ascribed to Otunba Jimi Lawal, while the other part was ascribed to Hon. Ladi Adebutu caucus. But in all, I was neutral and friendly to everyone. No friend, no foe.
12. This group continued to be sentimental. Members there are the ones deciding what will happen politically in the Abeokuta North, and by extension, Ogun Central senatorial district. This group was so mean to the extent that its members can even tell Hon. Ladi Adebutu not to go out of his house and he won’t.
13. This group really frustrated me, my team and a lot of people that have left the the party. Some did not left though but, they are finding it difficult to work with PDP in Ogun state. The group was not in anyway helpful to Ogun PDP at all. The leadership really caused a lot of damages, which the PDP can hardly redeem back.
14. Well, we went to field for the primaries and it was supposed to be an open ballot. The 12-Desciples have done several secret meetings to change the game and handpick a candidate but, they just want to come and use fake primaries to deceive the people. Unfortunately for them, fans, supporters and party faithful were fully on ground to decide who will be the candidate to represent Abeokuta North State Constituency and I was fully prepared for the contest against all odds.
15. When they noticed that the primaries will not favour their choice, they caused delay in the process. After several hours of delay in the process to commence the primaries, the 12-Desciples led by its leadership, Prince Lekan Tejuoso came to announce that there is not going to be any primaries, that there was an order from the above to pick Ahmed Muiz Oladimeji. Reason was because, he was seen at an event where Hon.Ladi Adebutu went to address some groups sometimes back and we were told that Ladi Adebutu liked him when he saw him and promised him assembly ticket then. Like seriously?
16. They repeat the statement, saying; the order came from Ladi Adebutu to use Muiz, and that all other aspirants should step down for him. Really, why? how? for what? Those were the questions that were renting the air.
17. The questions some of us asked then, were the reasons why we are tagged as un-loyal persons. They did not expect any question to be asked. They have turned themselves to emperors.
18. Fast forward, Ever since then, no sense of belonging, no progressive meeting, no integration. My followers were bittered and the whole thing was like a waste of time for all of them. I still maintained peace and tried to get along but, my presence was not always going well with them as they continue to cut me and my team out of their arrangement in the name of 12-Desciples that they called themselves.
19. When I tried to call on my co-aspirants for update, they all said similar thing except for Muiz that they took as their bride. Someone that was handpick without primaries and consent of co-contestants? So sad!
20. Few weeks after, Taofeek Ogunjimi’s name came out from INEC list, not even their Muiz again. The whole thing looked like comedy. The party Chairman’s name was mentioned to have changed the selfish plan of the 12-Desciples. Well, good for them.
21. After all, I went round to visit some leaders for reconciliation, with intention to support their choice for the sake of the Party’s success, while I worked with him. Three meetings were single handedly called by me but, no positive results. They will either not turn-up for the meeting or probably see it as a meeting not worth attending.
22. My supporters were feeling foolished and getting angry. Committee of friends wanted to go to court but, for the unity of the party, I stopped all from happening.
23. Thus, the next was different formation and set-up for Hon. Ladi Adebutu Campaign Team, such as Ward-2-Ward committee, etc. which I was not carried along neither my team. I put calls across some leaders and stakeholders, but they will either not answer or pick to say that they will get back without getting back. Prince. Lekan Tejuoso will not even pick at all!
24. At that point, I saw the need to keep low. I have pushed enough but it was glaring that they have made up their minds and they don’t want to open space for more people to come on board. That was the peak of their un-doings to me and my thousands of followers.
25. Months after then, I was conferred with a Chieftaincy title of “Asiwaju Aje of Obada-Oko Kingdom by the Kabiyesi, Olu of Obada, Oba Olufemi Abiodun Solaja. Invitations were sent out to many of them, only for me to see people from other parties to come and celebrate and honour me. None came from PDP I belonged to, except for members of IBA Foundation / IBA Political Movement.
26. The news of my Chieftaincy title got to the hood of APC plus the negligence and denials that the PDP has melted on me and my followers. We were invited for a meeting in APC. The local government Chairmen of APC, Abeokuta North local government, Alhaja Faidat Akintunde Sarumi facilitated a lot of integration meetings and at the end of the day, we were called and showed with some love by Governor Dapo Abiodun, who requested our collaboration and partnership.
27. On the day of the meeting with Governor Abiodun, the current Senator-elect, Alhaji Salisu Shuaib saw us and requested our support and service, which my team members were instantly activated for, with necessary logistics and proper incorporation.
28. That was why I moved my team to APC. And when we moved, we were showed love from all and sundry. We were welcome after necessary negotiation for better Ogun state and our first assignment was to deliver Abeokuta North local government for Senator Salisu Shuaib, Hon. Olumide Osoba and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and to the glory of God, we delivered.
29. I want to thank all those who showed love during my time in PDP. The like of the state youth leader, Hon. Sunkanmi Oyejide (SUCO), my good brother, thank you and God bless. You did your best for me and my team but, those bad leaders didn’t allow it to work as planned. I will respect you forever.
30. I want to specially thank my pen and paper man and DG in charge of IBA Political Movement, Comrade Wasiu Adekunle Adejumo (Westo). You are very deep and intelligent. I will cherish you forever. I respect your opinion, and I believe that we still have a better days ahead of us.
31. Also, Chief Aderinokun, a good man and philanthropist per excellence. I know you still have a future ahead. I will really miss you. Meanwhile, we shall continue to meet on the field of professionalism regardless of our political divides.
32. LI salute the party Chairman, Hon. Sikirulai Ogundele specially, your leadership is extremely excellent. Alhaji Ajisegiri Moruf, Alhaji Akeem Anifowose, Hon Semiu Oganla, Madam Wura Ola, etc. I salute you all. I will really miss each and everyone of you.
33. To my people in APC, Alhaja Faidat Akintunde Sarumi, Alhaji Bakai Okedara, Hon Ojodu Olayiwola, Alhaji Saba Ganiu etc., I thank you all. We shall continue to progress together.
34. To all my political fans, supporters and volunteers of IBA Foundation / IBA Political Movement, I appreciate you for everything. Meanwhile, it is not over until it is over. I want us to continue to work peaceful for the success of APC and re-election of Governor Dapo Abiodun and all the APC candidates for State Houses of Assembly come March 18 elections.
35. As we take good use of this APC avenue to serve and participate in delivering quality services that the people deserved, may almighty God continue to protect and lead us aright.
36. We move!
