Coalition of youths and students led by former Special Assistant on Students Affairs to former Governor Ibikunle Amosun, Comrade Olusegun Clement has thrown its weight behind the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Oladipupo Adebutu in Ogun state.
Comrade Clement, who led thousands of youths and students with their Permanent Voter’s Card, PVC to Hon. Adebutu on Monday said, they have come to partner with him and ensure his emergence as the next Governor of the State.
Premier World News reports that – the auditorium of Park Inn Hotel, Abeokuta was filled to capacity with youths and students across all the thirteen tertiary institutions in Ogun State for interactions with PDP’s Adebutu and endorsement of his governorship ambition.
During the session, Clement expressed support for Adebutu and urged him to ensure due payment of bursaries for indigenous students and create job opportunities for unemployed youths in the State when he emerges.
The former governor’s aide said – “we have made up our mind to support your governorship ambition, we will cast our votes for you and you shall be the next governor of Ogun. We are voting for you because we have gone through your profile, we commend your good work, and we are convinced that you are youth-oriented”
“We know that when you eventually emerge as the governor of this State, our bursary will be paid as and when due”
“We believe that when we vote for you, you will create job and employment opportunities for the youths and students because, you are an industrious son of the soil”
“We also have the confidence that your administration will provide adequate security in the state”, Clement addressed.
The Clement-led Coalition also donated Campaign materials, including two branded buses, fifty thousand notebooks and samples of ballot papers / index finger specimen for voters education, and other souvenirs to support and boost the governorship candidate.
While presenting the donated materials to Adebutu, Clement noted that the donations are token contributions to ensure his success, adding that, the youths and students constituencies in the State are now partners in progress with him.
In his response, Adebutu, appreciated the youths and students in their thousands, and assured them of drastic reduction in tuition fees across all tertiary institutions when he emerges.
Adebutu also condemned the Abiodun’s led APC goverment for lack of adequate infrastructures in tertiary institutions and poor funding in educational sector.
He further promised to continued to emulate the legacy of his father, Sir Keshington Adebutu, by providing scholarships for indigent students in the State and urged them to vote for PDP at all levels in the coming March 11 governorship and State House of Assembly elections.
