The Zee 1 for YAYI support group has inaugurated 400 canvassers to lead door-to-door mobilisation and voter sensitisation for Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (YAYI) and other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates ahead of the 2027 elections in Ogun State.

The group’s founder, Ambassador Ayomikun Azeez Ibrahim, who spoke at the inauguration in Abeokuta on Sunday, charged the canvassers to take the campaign message beyond political gatherings to homes, communities and rural areas across the state.

Ibrahim said the group would work to mobilise grassroots support for YAYI and other APC candidates, urging members to intensify direct engagement with residents.

“Let us come together and give our full support for YAYI by canvassing from door to door about YAYI and other APC candidates. We must also take the message to rural communities,” he said.

He also urged supporters to encourage eligible voters who had yet to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to do so, stressing that political support must ultimately be expressed through participation in the electoral process.

Also speaking, Hon. Asaluola Abiola, a former LCDA chairman, traditional ruler and Senior Consultant to the Ogun State Governor, urged local government coordinators to strengthen coordination and ensure that members were actively involved in the mobilisation exercise.

“We all have to work to ensure APC victory ahead of the 2027 elections. Our collective effort at the grassroots is very important,” Abiola said.

The Chairman and Consultant of the Commercial Motorcycle Riders Identification Scheme (COMORIS), Engineer Juwon Adebanjo, similarly called for continued voter education and PVC collection among eligible residents.

Other speakers, including Owolabi Otubu, Mrs. Kehinde Kazeem and Ayo Popoola, urged the newly inaugurated canvassers to remain committed to grassroots engagement and take the campaign message directly to voters.

Senator Adeola, popularly known as YAYI, is the APC’s governorship candidate for Ogun State in the 2027 election. The Ogun APC reaffirmed his candidacy in August, while the party has since unveiled a campaign council for the election.

The Zee 1 for YAYI initiative said its canvassers would sustain mobilisation and sensitisation activities across Ogun communities as the 2027 election approaches.
