Ekiti 2026: Otunba Fayose Vows to Restore Teachers’ Pride, Promises Better Pay, Promotions, Dignity

As Nigeria joins the rest of the world to celebrate World Teachers’ Day, leading Ekiti 2026 governorship aspirant, Otunba Emmanuel Oluwayose (Fayose), has paid glowing tribute to teachers across Nigeria and beyond, describing them as “the true architects of human progress and the foundation of every civilized society”.

In a goodwill message personally signed and released on Sunday, through his media aide, Wasiu Adejumo, Otunba Oluwayose expressed his profound appreciation to teachers for their dedication, resilience and immeasurable contribution to national development.

He lamented the poor working conditions, delayed salaries and inadequate welfare faced by teachers in Ekiti State under the current administration, describing them as “unjust and demoralizing to those who build the nation’s future”.

He said,

“Teachers are the lifeline of education, without them, there would be no quality learning, no innovation and no well-prepared future generation. They deserve dignity, comfort and full recognition for their service”.

Otunba Oluwayose, who recently moved from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to pursue his 2026 governorship ambition, assured that under his leadership, the welfare of teachers will be prioritized and fully reformed.

He promised that when elected Governor of Ekiti State in 2026, his administration would ensure:

  • Regular and increased salaries for teachers,
  • Timely promotions and transparent career advancement,
  • A zero-interest loan scheme to support their personal and family needs, and
  • The construction of low-cost housing estates with incentives tailored to teachers.

“My vision is to make Ekiti teachers proud again, we will build an environment where every teacher is motivated, well-paid and respected, because without teachers, there is no knowledge; without knowledge, there is no progress”, he declared.

Otunba Oluwayose further urged Nigerians to celebrate teachers in words and in action through policies that value their role and improve their quality of life.

“Whether in the analog or digital age, teachers remain the builders of minds and the bridge between today’s generation and tomorrow’s leaders. They deserve everything good”, he said.
