Pelican Valley CEO, Dabiri-Erewa to Champion Diaspora Investment Drive at UK Business Event

  • By Monsurat Aina, Abeokuta

In a strategic move to deepen diaspora investment in Nigeria’s real estate sector, the CEO of Pelican Valley Nigeria Ltd., Ambassador (Dr.) Babatunde Adeyemo, and the Chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, are set to headline a high-level investment event in London this July.

The milestone event is the 10th Anniversary of Avenue Impact, a prominent UK-based African business networking organisation, scheduled for July 5, 2025, to gather a diverse mix of entrepreneurs, investors, mentors and key stakeholders from across the African diaspora.

Dr. Adeyemo, an award-winning real estate visionary told journalists in Abeokuta that the London trip is a strategic component of Pelican Valley’s broader agenda to harness the untapped potential of diaspora wealth.

Hon. Dabiri-Erewa will attend as Special Guest of Honour, while Dr. Adeyemo will spotlight Nigeria’s property market, with a focus on the fast-growing Pelican’s Ecostay Apartments, in a bid to attract more diasporan investors.

He revealed that his previous engagements with Avenue Impact, including a presentation at its 2024 Business Networking and Winter Ball have already yielded significant returns, as over 900 diaspora Nigerians have invested through these efforts, with Avenue Impact members acquiring 48 plots of land and two homes.

“Some of our esteemed diaspora clients, including Madam Dolapo O., will be receiving their property documents and house keys directly from me at the anniversary celebration,” he said.

Adeyemo also touted the Pelican Ecostay Apartments, located within the Pelican Brief Estate in Ogun State, as an environmentally conscious, tech-enabled residential hub.

The estate features:

  • Government-approved layouts
  • 33KVA/500KV power infrastructure with 90% solar backup
  • Armed security personnel
  • Interlocked road network
  • Studio to three-bedroom apartments, and semi-detached duplexes with BQs
  • Lifestyle additions including a lounge, bar, mini club, worship centres, sports courts, swimming pool, and a mini zoo with exotic animals like camels and peacocks.

“The estate is just 20 minutes from Abeokuta CBD and 50 minutes from Alausa Secretariat in Ikeja, making it ideal for diaspora Nigerians seeking smart investments close to Lagos,” he explained.

He noted that Pelican’s two-bedroom apartments appreciated from ₦28 million to ₦42 million in just one year, adding that the firm also supports clients with short-let conversion, providing them with passive income opportunities.

“We offer zero-interest flexible payment plans with no hidden charges, making our model extremely diaspora-friendly,” he emphasized.

In a statement, Mr. Funso Akinwunmi, Founder/CEO of Avenue Impact, affirmed the strength of the Pelican brand and its relevance to global investors.

“This collaboration with Pelican Valley exemplifies our commitment to strategic partnerships that yield real economic benefits. The credibility of the Pelican brand and the personal presence of its CEO at our anniversary celebration will enhance trust and transparency,” Akinwunmi noted.
