Ogun PDP Youth Leader Reaffirms Party’s Resolve to Reclaim Power in 2027

As the 2027 general elections draw closer, the Youth Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Sunkanmi Oyejide, has attested to the party’s commitment to reclaim power through strategic grassroots mobilization and inclusive political engagement.

Speaking to journalists in Abeokuta on Saturday, Oyejide stated that the PDP is working diligently to strengthen its presence across all local government areas to welcome new members and position itself as a credible alternative to the current administration.

According to Oyejide,

“Under the leadership of Mr. Abayomi Tella, the Ogun PDP has been actively engaging with communities, addressing pressing issues and formulating policies that resonate with the needs of the people”.

Oyejide also commented on the internal crises within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, indicating that the ongoing conflicts could weaken the party’s position ahead of the 2027 elections.

“Displeasure among party members, lack of cohesion and public disputes are likely to diminish the APC’s chances of success in the upcoming elections,” Oyejide asserted.

Oyejide highlighted the successful conduct of party congresses from the ward to the state level as a testament to the PDP’s internal cohesion and organizational preparedness.

The Youth Leader noted that these congresses laid a solid foundation for future political operations and strategies, as party members agreed to a common goal.

He further added,

“With the backing of the National Working Committee and the unwavering support of our members, Ogun PDP is poised to make significant strides in the state’s political landscape,” he said.

Oyejide further criticized Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration for what he described as a lack of transparency, accountability and good governance, stating that the electorate deserves better.

He emphasized that the PDP’s grassroots approach is key to rebuild public trust and regaining political momentum as the party prepares for the next electoral revolution.

“Our Party’s revived focus on unity, inclusiveness and community-based engagement reflects our strategy to address past shortcomings and present a united front to the electorate in 2027”, Oyejide concluded.
