Former Ogun State Governor and Senator representing Ogun Central, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, on Saturday led party loyalists, stakeholders and supporters to participate in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary reaffirmation exercise held at Itoko Oju-Agemo Ward 6, Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The former governor, who remains one of the most influential political figures in Ogun Central, joined other APC members in openly endorsing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the nationwide primary exercise conducted across wards in the country.

Speaking with journalists shortly after the exercise, Amosun described the day as “special,” emphasizing that the exercise was primarily aimed at reaffirming support for President Tinubu and the APC administration.
“Well, you know today is very special. Today is for the President. And we all must come out to show and demonstrate that yes, we are for the President, we are for APC, and that’s why I’m here,” Amosun said.
The former governor noted that the process across his ward was peaceful, orderly and reflective of party unity, adding that APC members were united in support of President Tinubu’s leadership.
“You could see for yourself. We are orderly and that is what it should be. All of us are speaking with one voice. No dissension. Everybody agreed that yes, we want our President to continue his good work,” he added.
When asked about the political situation surrounding the Ogun Central Senatorial ticket ahead of the 2027 elections, Amosun declined detailed comments and instead shifted attention back to the presidential exercise.
“We are for Mr. President today,” he responded with laughter.
Premier World News reports that Amosun’s appearance and mobilization at the ward exercise further stressed his enduring grassroots influence and political relevance within Ogun Central despite ongoing speculations surrounding the APC senatorial ticket in the district.
Party supporters and residents who gathered at the venue described the turnout as impressive, with many commending the peaceful atmosphere and level of participation recorded during the exercise.
Party members also noted that Amosun’s continued visibility and mobilization strength within the APC structure may remain a significant factor in Ogun politics ahead of the 2027 general elections, especially within Ogun Central Senatorial District.
