2027: NSC DG Olopade Predicts Greater Development in Ogun Under Yayi’s Leadership

The Director-General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Hon. Bukola Olopade (Ozogbula), has declared that Ogun State is on the verge of witnessing another era..

The Director-General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Hon. Bukola Olopade (Ozogbula), has declared that Ogun State is on the verge of witnessing another era of purposeful leadership under Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

Olopade made the remarks on Thursday while speaking with journalists at the Centenary Hall, Ake, Abeokuta, where results from the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election were being collated and announced.

The former Ogun State Commissioner described Senator Adeola as a compassionate leader whose style of politics and public service has continued to resonate with the people across Ogun State over the years.

“Even before everybody saw it, we had been saying that the best of the state would come when Yayi comes,” Olopade stated.

“For me, I thought the human angle, Yayi’s style of leadership, that has permeated the state and resonated everywhere for close to 11 or 12 years, was enough evidence to show that this is a man, a politician, a family man and a public figure who genuinely cares about the people.”

According to him, his public endorsement of Senator Adeola was based on years of observing the lawmaker’s leadership qualities, intellect and grassroots connection.

“When sometime early last year, I came out publicly to endorse him, it was because I was convinced that his intellect, beyond his local acts and contributions, is exactly what Ogun State requires to move forward after Governor Dapo Abiodun,” he added.

Olopade further stressed that Ogun State stands to gain immensely from Senator Adeola’s humility, generosity, respect for institutions and people-oriented governance style.

“Ogun State is about to be blessed with another great governor and leader. His humility, respect for institutions and people, and his love for the masses are key ingredients that will continue to pave the way for him in society,” he said.

“He must continue to remain kind and generous because generosity is what helps leaders build roads for economic growth and empower young people.”

Speaking on sports development, the NSC boss expressed confidence that Senator Adeola’s administration would prioritize youth empowerment and sports infrastructure if elected governor in 2027.

“My forte is sports, and I know Yayi will be good for sports,” he declared.

He also called on Ogun residents and stakeholders to support Senator Adeola’s vision of transforming Ogun into a major sporting hub capable of empowering thousands of youths and driving economic opportunities through sports development.

Party Memebers believe Olopade’s continued public support further reinforces the growing coalition of influential political figures, grassroots mobilisers and technocrats rallying behind Senator Adeola’s governorship ambition ahead of the 2027 polls.

Premier World News reports that Hon. Bukola Olopade has remained one of the staunchest supporters of Senator Adeola’s political project, consistently championing his leadership qualities and readiness to reposition Ogun State for greater development.
