Efon Alaaye, Ekiti State – In a move that has electrified the political landscape of Ekiti State, leading governorship aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Otunba Emmanuel Fayose, on Tuesday launched his statewide grassroots engagement tour, beginning with Efon Alaaye Local Government Area.
The political atmosphere in Efon Alaaye was charged with excitement as community leaders, market women, elders and stakeholders trooped out in large numbers to welcome the astute politician, who is seeking to succeed the current administration in the 2026 general elections.

Otunba Fayose was received by a high-powered delegation of local PDP leaders including Hon. Yemi Ajanaku, the Local Government Party Chairman; Madam Ekundayo Fayoke, Woman Leader; Bolarina Olalekan, Youth Leader and Oyakanmi Dada, Party Secretary.
Traditional figures such as Chief Akowe Olugbeku of Emo-Efon and Chief Isaac Alo, the Olusare of Efon, were also present, alongside a host of political influencers including Hon. Oluwadare Olasunkanmi, former Vice Chairman of Efon Local Government, Mrs. H.O. Ilesanmi, former Secretary, and Joshua Abimo, State Deputy Chairman (Ekiti Central).

In his address at the community center and later at the PDP secretariat, Otunba Fayose, known for his charisma and deep connection with grassroots citizens, vowed to usher in a new era of inclusive governance aimed at tackling the socio-economic challenges confronting Ekiti State.
“We cannot continue with a system that neglects the hungry, ignores the unemployed, and forgets its youth,” Otunba Fayose declared passionately.
“My vision is a government where no one is left behind, where we create industries, invest in infrastructure and prioritize human capital”, Otunba Fayose addressed.
Amid cheers from a visibly inspired crowd, Fayose danced and mingled with attendees, reinforcing his reputation as a man of the people.
The visit, political observers say, signals the beginning of what could be a transformative movement in the countdown to 2026.
In a subtle yet direct swipe at the incumbent administration, Otunba Fayose urged the electorate to reject any offers of vote-buying, accusing the current leadership of failure and desperation.
“The people deserve better. Don’t sell your future for a pinch,” he cautioned.
Hon. Yemi Ajanaku, in his remarks, praised the visit as a “historic moment” for Efon Alaaye, declaring full local support for Fayose’s candidacy.
“Otunba Emmanuel Fayose represents hope and clarity in a time of uncertainty. We stand with him,” Ajanaku stated, to the applause of party loyalists.
As the tour moves to Irepodun and Ado Local Governments in the coming days, political analysts are watching closely as Fayose’s campaign strategy begins to unfold with precision and populist passion.

Ekiti 2026 has officially entered a new phase and from all indications, the winds of change may just be gathering momentum.
