Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi has defeated the candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC and former Lagos state governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the February 25 poll in Lagos state.
Officially in Lagos, Peter Obi polled 582,454 votes to came first, Tinubu scored 572,606 votes to came second, PDP’s Alhaji Atiku Abubakar came third with 75,750 votes and NNPP’s Rabiu Kwankwaso polled 8,442 to came fourth position.
The accredited votes in the state are 1,347,452, the total valid votes are 1,271,451, rejected votes 64,278, while the total votes cast are 1,335,729
Lagos state is the base of Tinubu, who was governor of the state from 1999 to 2007, which he lost to Peter Obi.
