The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Ogun State Chapter, has successfully conducted its State Executive Council election, culminating in the re-election of Comrade Sanyaolu Abayomi as Chairman and the inauguration of a new leadership team.

The election, held at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters in Magbon, Abeokuta, was described by stakeholders as peaceful, transparent and orderly, reflecting IPAC’s commitment to internal democracy and inter-party cooperation.

At the conclusion of the exercise, representatives of political parties across the state elected a new executive council to steer the affairs of the body.

Comrade Abayomi of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), secured a renewed mandate, reaffirming the confidence of member parties in his leadership.

Other members of the newly constituted executive include Yeye Olubukunla Soyoye (LP) as Deputy Chairman; Amb. Yeye Olufunke Olanrewaju (ADP), re-elected as Secretary; Arch. Akerele Abiodun (Boot Party) as Deputy Secretary; and Alhaji Yaya Adesina Afolabi (AAC), who also retained his position as Treasurer.

Additional officers are Mr. Biola Martins (APP), re-elected as Organising Secretary; Dr. Yinka Williams (SDP) as Financial Secretary; Hon. Adeyemi S. Oluwaseyifunmi (YPP) as Publicity Secretary; and Seriki Boyede Ijaduoye (ZLP), re-elected as Legal Adviser.

In a statement, IPAC Ogun State congratulated the chairman and other elected officials, describing their emergence as “a testament to the confidence reposed in them by member political parties”.

The council also commended INEC for providing an enabling environment for the conduct of the election, as well as stakeholders whose cooperation ensured a hitch-free process.

“The new leadership is expected to continue promoting political harmony, credible electoral processes and constructive engagement among political parties in Ogun State and Nigeria at large”, the statement read.

IPAC further reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening democratic values, fostering unity among political actors, and advancing collaborative governance in the state.

Premier World News reports that the outcome of the election reinforces IPAC’s role as a stabilising platform for multi-party engagement, particularly as political activities gradually intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
