Empowering Traders: Aderinokun’s Water Project Still Touching Lives

In a remarkable testament to quality and community-driven impact, one of the numerous borehole projects facilitated by Chief Olumide Aderinokun, former PDP senatorial candidate for Ogun Central, has continued to function excellently two years after its commissioning.

The project, located within Cow and Meat Sellers’ Arena at Lafenwa Market in Abeokuta, was originally commissioned on February 9, 2023, under the Olumide & Stephanie Aderinokun Foundation.

Aderinokun’s Water Project

The sustainability of the project came to light after an inspection by Sunkanmi Oyejide, a politically conscious resident of Abeokuta, who captured the borehole in a video, still functioning efficiently and bringing daily relief to users.

Designed to serve the water needs of traders and residents in the busy marketplace, the borehole has remained fully operational and effective to this day.

Unlike many government projects that become dysfunctional shortly after commissioning, Aderinokun’s borehole stands as a symbol of durability, thoughtful execution and community-first governance.

Market women, meat sellers, traders and residents continue to benefit from easy access to clean water, which has significantly improved hygiene, boosted business efficiency and enhanced daily life at the market.

This successful project once again underlines Chief Aderinokun’s consistent commitment to grassroots development, responsible philanthropy and support for small-scale businesses across Ogun Central.
