Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ogun State Council has rejoiced with a former governor in the state, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, OGD on the occasion of his 67th birthday anniversary.
Celebrating the former governor and Senator-elect in Ogun East Senatorial District, Gbenga Daniel, the Union Chairman Wale Olanrewaju and the Secretary, Bunmi Adigun described OGD as – ‘a classical and distinguished personnel, with discipline, generosity, compassion, hard work and unbendable principles’.
The Union statement, titled – “Ogun NUJ Celebrates OGD @67“ reads thus;
“The Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ogun State Council joins the rest of the world to celebrate the Former Governor of Ogun State and Senator-elect that will represent Ogun Senatorial District at the Red Chamber, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, OGD as he clocks 67.
“OGD, as he is fondly called, has always been in a different class – a class distinguished by examples of personal discipline, generosity, compassion, hard work and unbendable principles.
“Either in private or public life, the two term Distinguished Senator is very much atypical.
“From his sartorial preferences to leadership style, he stands pretty tall and far away from archetypal lot.
“Beyond politics, OGD is a tried and tested leader, with a proven interest in growth with or without the backing of political power.
“This special day avails us an uncommon opportunity to celebrate his resourcefulness and astute mindedness which have made him a brilliant leadership and an achiever par excellence.
“As he begins his sojourn into the Nigerian Senate, his antecedent proves that not only is he the right fit for the people of Ogun and all patriotic Nigerians, he is a man to be honoured, emulated and celebrated.
“So, on this auspicious day, we pray Almighty God grant him his heart desires, His continued guidance and abiding grace, as He keeps him in excellent fettle for impactful service to the State, Country and humanity at large.
“Once again congratulations, Your Excellency! Igba odun, odun kan ni o”, the Union concluded.
