Nearly all the countries in Africa have old names they were called before bearing new names. Many African countries changed their old names after gaining their independence.
Africa is the second largest continent in the world out of the seven main divisional continents.The seven continents from largest to the smallest are – Asia, Europe, North America, South America, Antarctica, Africa and Australia.
