Political group belonging to the House of Representatives aspirant in Abeokuta South, Akeem Amosun, and his teeming supporters from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP have unanimously endorsed governor Abiodun for second term in office.
This relative development came shortly after a political group belong to late Buruji Kashamu and supporters of Otunba Jimi Lawal dumped the PDP governorship candidate, Oladipupo Adebutu to endorsed governor Dapo Abiodun’s bid for second term in office.
Speaking at an event in Idi-Aba area of Abeokuta, where Akeem Amosun and his supporters met with the governor, Amosun said his supporters are made up of mainly traders, artisans and civil servants, who are not politicians, promising to deliver 50,000 votes to the governor in the governorship election.
Governor Abiodun, in his response, lauded them for the trust reposed in him, calling on them to impress it on their friends, family members, and colleagues to vote APC on March 11.
Responding further to Amosun’s endorsement of Abiodun’s bid for second term, the Chief Press Secretary to the state government, Sunday OlakunleSomorin said – “we have also received some members of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP from Abeokuta into our fold”
“The defectors were led by their leader, Hon. Akeem Amosun, a former PDP House of Representatives aspirant for Abeokuta South Federal Constituency”.
“Our expansion and increment is an indication of the fact that we are doing something right as an administration and political party. We’re optimistic our achievements will earn us another victory at the polls, come next week Saturday”, – he concluded.
